I hope this post finds all our new and returning well and healthy. The weather here has been exceptionally hot, what with this being the hot summer months. We're looking forward to some rain and breezes.

Rain, Rain Go Away

Hello Everybody,

 As you may have heard, we had a bit of a scare with Tropical Storm Fay making its way through the hispaniolas on its way Stateside. This isn't the first time my family and I have had to deal with the anxiety of a tropical storm, however, each time it occurs we learn its not as scary as everyone makes it out to be.

This time around, we didn't panic, we kept our ears to the ground and made sure we had everything at home. Eventually, what was touted as a danger ended up being nothing more than a few hours of rain and cooler temperatures. This seems to be par for the course when it has come to Tropical Storms in recent history.

This IS the tropics, however, so one can never be too careful, which is why we now offer Insurance services to any and all of our existing clients.

We're constantly growing and expanding to make sure we meet any and ALL of your needs.

Las Dunas Revisited

Hi Everyone!

Here at DR4Sale.com we continue to grow by leaps and bounds, onwards and upwards, and any other number of slogans that are appropriate for our success.

This past weekend we had the opportunity to take our sales team on a tour of the Las Dunas project in Uvero Alto. The team braved the warm sun and ocean breeze to bring you these amazing pictures. It's astonishing, everytime we visit Las Dunas, it just keeps on growing and looking better and better. Friends,

Now that high season has come and gone, we wanted to update some of our prospective clients on the progress that is being done in Las Dunas and Costa Azul.

As you'll be able to see, Las Dunas is nearing completion, as all the finishing products are being installed in the frontline and adjacent buildings. The views from the terraces are simply AMAZING.

Costa Azul has informed us that the first four front-line buildings will be completed at the end of the year. What we've seen so far leads us to believe they'll finish well-ahead of their projected time.

High season 2007 has come and gone and things are still just as busy as ever!!  The Playa Turquesa community is nearing completion and is scheduled to open in September 2008, keys are being turned over to the owners for the Villa Mare community, El Dorado continues to sell and rent well thanks to the opening of many exciting commercial offerings, and the 1st buildings in the Costa Azul project are now under roof.  The EdenH Resort, which recently opened in December 2007, has been a HUGE success and the feedback from many of our customers has been GREAT!!

We are also excited to announce that our HGTV House Hunters International show that we taped in early 2007 will be aired this July.  When we have a firm date, we will make sure to let everyone know the details.  This show will help people from all over the world see and feel the massive expansion and development that is underway in the country as well as get exposure to the beauty and local hospitality that are both cornerstones to this growth.

Expectations for the future are significant.  Tourism numbers continue to surge with Canadians, Americans, Russians, Belgians and the English occupying the top 5.  Year-over-year, Canadians have accounted for the most growth and represent an increase of 37%.  With a total of 725,238 tourists visiting in the first 2 months of 2008, the DR has experienced an amazing 9.14% increase over the same period in 2007!

Investment in the country is also at an all-time high.  In 2007 alone, the DR received over US $1.7 billion in Foreign Direct Investment.  IKEA just broke ground on an 80,000 square meter store in Santo Domingo, committing to invest a total of US $63 million while Fairmount Hotels & Resorts has just announced construction of a 255-room complex in Roco Ki.

The Dominican Republic has long been known for its baseball, but you might be surprised at what other sports the country is starting to excel in.  Arismendy Peguero won gold in the 400-meter dash, Raul Aguayo has jumped to #74 in the International Sailing Federation’s world rankings, 6 Dominican boxers have qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks was a key component in the NBA finals, master swimmer Danilo Vicioso won 2 bronze medals in the FINA World Masters, while Erika Araki and Bethania de la Cruz led the Dominican national team to victory in the Japanese Woman’s Premier Volleyball Tournament.  Speaking of baseball, Manny Ramirez of the Boston Red Sox is close to joining the illustrious 500 HR club!

Cap Cana has recently hosted both the 68th International Light Tackle Association Tournament and the PGA Seniors Champions Tour while the North shore played host to the World Poker Showdown.  The island will also be hosting the Professional Kiteboard Riders Association Cabarete World Cup 2008 beginning June 25th and Casa de Campo will be home to the Rolex Farr 40 World Championship regatta in 2010.
