Hurricane Dean
Hello everybody. It's hurricane season! Hurricane Dean was expected here on Saturday August 18 in the evening, but it never really showed up. We got light rain and mild wind in the morning, then again around 6:00pm, but that was it! It was a non-issue here. The most impact in the DR were heavy waves and rocks thrown ashore.
I've been told that the DR is in a hurricane hole. Only 11 hurricanes have hit the DR in the past 80 years and only 3 of them in the Punta Cana area with minimal damage. Watching the news I learned that Florida is hit with a hurricane every 3 years! Amazing.
Anyway, I just want to let you know that we are fine here in Punta Cana and our thoughts are with those still in the path of Hurricane Dean.
